Abstract:
Curious about Master Data Management? With SQL Server 2008 R2 you can now design and build a master data management solution. In this session we will explore what Master Data Management is, the challenges and well as what SQL Server 2008 R2 provides to help solve the problems of master data.

Syed’s most recent role was a Senior Product Manager for Data Programmability and Enterprise Integration solutions at Microsoft Corp., Syed Rasheed coordinated marketing, consulting, evangelism, and product development activities. In addition to helping customers address Integration challenges today, Syed was responsible for working with customers, partners, and industry analysts to ensure the next generation of Microsoft technology meets customer’s requirements for building SOA and Business Process solutions. Syed is 15 years veteran of IT industry with extensive experience in the Business Process Management Systems, Enterprise Integration Middleware and Database & Business Intelligence technologies areas. His work spanned several industries including financial services, telecommunication and banking.
Session 2: Column Level Encryption in SQL Server 2008 R2
Abstract:
We will discuss the "how to's" of column encryption from the perspective of the DBA, Application Architect, and Programmer. We will actually encrypt the "NationalIDNumber" column of the Personel.Employee table in AdventureWorks. We will also briefly discuss business role changes necessary to support encryption and subsequently DR.
